A nod to the 60’s at Abaete

Shaped sixties dresses and vertical motifs looked cool at Abaeté, designed by Laura Poretzky. It started with white chiffon embellished with golden squares and got colorful from there…

Perennial red carpet favorite Bagdley Mischka filled the runway with dresses any starlet would love. Along with handbags with handles – instead of clutches - the models were perfectly put together for Spring '07 parties…

Girlawhirl was expecting a collection fit for a Madison Avenue socialite at the J Mendel show, and Gilles Mendel didn’t disappoint, delivering gorgeous dresses full of laser cut-out details, fabrics pieced into art deco chevron details and in keeping with the heritage of the company, fur trims and coats…

Peter Som’s spring 07 collection is definitely one of the leaders of the lady-like pack. Girlawhirl was so taken with the second look of the show, a three button swingy jacket over a pair of skinny pants that - even though suits aren’t usually part of her weekday wardrobe – she’s gotta have it for spring…

Girlawhirl’s been watching the shows, taking in the action at Olympus Fashion Week in New York’s Bryant Park and at other locations throughout the city and, while it’s still early, she’s starting to get a feeling for what’s going to be hot – and cool for Spring 2007…

Girlawhirl is her glory—smack in the middle of the fashion frenzy of the Spring/Summer 2007 catwalks at Olympus Fashion Week. There aren’t too many things that could top a day like this for her, but surely the fashion gods must be smiling down on her, because she did find ONE more thing to make her smile…
