Finale

The fashion shows in Paris ended today with Louis Vuitton. There was a full on collision of worlds along the front row. The lineup included the singer (Jackie Kennedy's sister) La Deneuve was wearing a red headband and tasteful jewels. Pharrell was wearing a red baseball cap cocked to the side and had enough diamonds hanging around his neck to anchor a ship. Lee was wrapped in a red coat with an enormous silver fur collar.

The three of them chatted amiably and we couldn't help but wonder about the topic of conversation. Perhaps Lee was complimenting Pharrell on his tremendous work in helping to transform Britney Spears image? Was she singing along to that song, "Ban-an-as!"

Rounding out the front row was model who these days has been watching more runway shows than walking in them. Naomi is still a young woman ---barely into her 30s -- but in model years she's practically ready for a membership in AARP.

There's been a lot of moaning among editors because we're missing the . We've been among the loudest complainers. We're trying to stay awake to watch part of the ceremony, but with the time difference we fear we'll be asleep before all the stars manage to file into the theater.

Jon Stewart

So far, though, we can say that we liked the Narciso Rodriguez dress that was wearing a tuxedo from Ralph Lauren, but Jon could be wearing Juicy Couture and we'd still think he was fabulous because he's so ridiculously smart and funny.

One thing we'd like to say is that we find it annoying that the commentators all feel the need to announce who designed their dress/tuxedo and who loaned them the jewelry. (, we did not need to know that you were wearing 40 some odd carats of diamonds from Chris Aire. No need to share.) Pretty soon the fans in the stands will be saying that their jeans are by Seven for All Mankind and their T-shirts are by James Perse.

Nothing but love for . We're happy that he wore a traditional tuxedo instead of one of those baggy maitre'd suits he seems to be so fond of.
