New York fashion week starts today

Girlawhirl’s been planning and prepping for weeks, and finally it’s here: Fall Fashion Week in New York. Officially called Olympus Fashion Week Spring Collections ‘07, it’s almost 100 shows in the tents at Bryant Park, with designers from all over the world premiering their looks for next spring…

Finally it’s here! Girlawhirl feels as if she’s been waiting forever, but it’s really just been a few months. Today’s the day that the Vivienne Westwood collection for Nine West hits the stores and the web. Girlawhirl loves the humor and drama of Vivienne Westwood’s clothing and accessories. Somehow there’s always a bit of tension in her creations, mixing the edgy with the traditional to create show-stopping pieces...

Always browsing the travel section of her favorite book stores, a different kind of travel book caught Girlawhirl’s eye. Ramble: A Field Guide To The U.S.A. by Eric Peterson didn’t look like just another travel book, and after flipping through it, Girlawhirl could see that there were quite a few things covered in this book that probably wouldn’t be mentioned in many others…
